Supplier Diversity at AMD
Driving diversity into our supply chain.
 |
AMD is committed to strengthening our community and our company by seeking minority and women-owned suppliers for procurement opportunities. We believe in creating opportunities for people to succeed; and we realize that our business decisions and strategic plans must be based on contributions of people from diverse backgrounds, ideas and cultures.
We further believe that the use of qualified minority and women-owned businesses in our supply chain enhances our competitive advantage and contributes to the success of the company. At AMD, our commitment is to build a strong, diverse supplier base and achieve excellence in supplier diversity.
Our supplier diversity vision is to ensure the inclusion of minority and women-owned businesses and we will drive innovative leadership of supplier diversity at AMD by leveraging purchasing opportunities for minorities and women.
Qualifications for Diverse and Women-owned Suppliers
In order to qualify as a diverse or women-owned supplier with AMD, your business must be at least 51% owned, operated and controlled by one or more US citizens from any of the following ethnic groups: African, Asian, Hispanic or Native Americans.
Women-owned businesses must be at least 51% owned, operated and controlled by one or more women who are US citizens.
Certification Requirements
Certification is an essential part of AMD's supplier diversity efforts. Certification means that an independent, third-party certifying agency has reviewed the management and operations of your business and has verified that it is owned, operated and controlled by minorities or women.
AMD requires that all minority and women-owned suppliers have a certification of ownership, operation and control from a professional certifying organization or a local, regional, or federal certifying agency. We also require that all primary suppliers have written certification from its subcontractors.
